A Good Conscience

Human beings are blessed with a conscience. An animal may kill another animal and take everything the other animal had worked hard for and never feel one bit of remorse. But we can’t do that. Our conscience is built into us to feel bad about treating our neighbor poorly. Our conscience is pure when we are born, but it can be hurt. If we hurt it enough, it can turn bad. If we let that go, it stops talking to us. If we let that go, it becomes seared like a piece of meat so it won’t let things in or out. The last phase is that we become reprobate. It can be rebuilt, but it takes a bunch of times in a row to obey it and it slowly recovers. It’s really worth it though.
