I shared last week that water shortages after the West Coast disasters would cause the loss of many people, which will ultimately be worldwide. Preparing emergency sources of drinkable water is something all believers should do. Drinkable water will be one of the most valuable commodities in the world in the future.

When on my last visit to the Northwest, after days of feeling a terrible grief for the region, I was then shown that after the eruptions and earthquakes in that region, the Northwest U.S. and Western Canada would become one of the most geologically stable and beautiful places in the world to live. I’m still processing this, but I felt that somehow the pillars of the earth in this region would be set in such a way that this would be as stable as anywhere in the world after this. This is also the point of Hebrews 12 where we are told that everything that can be shaken will be shaken; it is so that the things which cannot be shaken will remain.

We can also expect that after the great shaking comes to our West Coast that this region will likely be the most spiritually alive place on the planet. As things unfold at the end of this age, these regions will be a haven.

I have not seen anything more specific than this about the future of California. There is always hope, and God does cause “all things” to work for the good of His people. Whatever comes will be for the good of His people, and we cannot lose hope in that. The things that come upon the world at the end of this age are parallels to the judgments that came upon Egypt to set God’s people free and to judge the false gods of Egypt. These things are coming upon the world for these same reasons.

Even so, we are told that “if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not have to be judged” (see I Corinthians 11:31). Until these things happen, we should pray for repentance so that they could be spared. Because of the link to the world economy, even if it is out of selfishness, we should be praying for our West Coast. The whole world will be touched by what happens there.

One thing that would help us all would be to seek a deep understanding and agreement with God’s justice and His judgments. The shallow and sometimes wrong understanding of Christians about these is a weakness that will be increasingly costly in the times to come. We must seek to establish our beliefs on sound biblical truth instead of what most have built theirs on which is human reasoning and human idealism. When we establish them on sound biblical truth, they help lead us to God’s righteousness, and His righteousness will lead to the only true source of peace and joy that we can have.

"for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking,
but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit" (Romans 14:17).

His kingdom is coming and His will is going to be done on earth as it is in heaven. We can live in heaven now if we will build our lives on His kingdom. We have a simple choice—to seek His kingdom first above all things or to keep living according to the spirit of this world.

"I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death,
the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,

by loving the LORD your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him"
(see Deuteronomy 30:19-20).
