Haiti Earthquake
Groups on the ground in Haiti are currently reporting that the situation is critical and deteriorating. The airport is now a bottleneck, and other transportation questionable. Port-Au-Prince is one of the most densely populated cities in the world and it is anticipated that the death toll could reach 100,000, or higher. Search and rescue, medical services, and clean water are the immediate priorities.

MorningStar/CMM Missions has a team operating from just across the border in The Dominican Republic. There is currently housing available in the Dominican Republic for 20 volunteers and transportation to the earthquake damaged areas. We are only seeking those trained in Community Emergency Response (CERT) and professional medical or first responders are needed at this time. You will be responsible for your transportation costs to and from the the Santa Damigo Airport in Dominican Republic.

As soon as the situation has stabilized and we are confident of at least relative safety for our workers, we will be sending more long term team into Haiti, and will be looking for volunteers with specific skills. The Volunteer Registration and the Volunteer Disaster Assistance Release forms need to be downloaded, completed and faxed to us at 803-548-8438.
Once accepted further instructions will be given.
