Night Watch Part Time Position
The night watch applicant’s primary duty is to be available as a point of contact to receive reports of the personally observe for suspicious activity, building problems that require immediate attention, after-hours concerns from staff, residents, guests and community members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Standard MorningStar (Non-college) diploma or equivalent

Communication Skills

  • Communication is one of the most essential parts of this job. Applicant should possess good communication skills. They must posses the ability to treat people in the manner fitting for the circumstances: with kindness, assertive, respectfully, empathetically, etc.
  • Applicant should have the ability to articulate information well while speaking with their supervisors

Decision Making

  • Applicant should be able to understand situations and apply guidelines provided for many standard situations
  • Applicant should be able to field circumstances that may occur to which they may respond and apply logical solutions within general guidelines provided to them.

Situational Awareness

  • Applicant should be able to keep vigilant watch over themselves and the areas of capus that are focal points for risk.
  • Applicant should be vigilantly watching the campus, individuals, vehicles, situations, interactions among people in public places etc.

DUTIES:

(NOTE: the night watch position is not a “security guard” position that is S.L.E.D.

Certified and therefore is not authorized to take enforcement action. This position  is observe and communicate.)

  • The night watch applicant’s primary duty is to be available as a point of contact to receive reports of the personally observe for suspicious activity, building problems that require immediate attention, after-hours concerns from staff, residents, guests and community members.
  • The applicant will be responsible for checking all doors and securing all areas at the designated time for “lockdown” after the normal business day. (Typically 10pm)
  • Applicant may receive after-hours calls for assistance in the H.I.M. and H.C. Communities. This can vary in nature, but may include some moderate lifting.
